2025 Major Championships ticket prices: $500 less expensive than the Ryder Cup?
The PGA of America announced the 2025 Ryder Cup ticket prices last week. The $749 price point for the daily passes faced flak from fans. Many also voiced their displeasure against the governing body’s decision to charge $350 from volunteers for the US vs Europe competition held in New York at Bethpage.
The Ryder Cup ticket prices are indeed high compared to the 2025 major championships. Comparing regular day passes, excluding the VIP section, tickets for the Bethpage event surpasses the Masters by $599 and the PGA Championship by $487. For the unversed, the Sunday ticket at Augusta Masters cost $140, while the Quail Hollow Club charges $262.
The three-day practice rounds for the 2025 Masters cost $100, while the same costs $69-109 at the PGA Championship. Notably, The Open Championship 2025 at Royal Portrush offers the cheapest entry to practice rounds, charging $32-71. The competition’s final round will set back regular fans by $169.
Meanwhile, the Monday practice at the U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club will cost $60, and entry for Sunday’s finale will be $185.
It's pertinent to note that the prices mentioned here are listed on the tournament’s official websites, but the availability of the tickets is not mentioned. The tickets might be sold at a higher premium through resellers.

PGA of America defends Ryder Cup ticket prices
The 2025 Ryder Cup ticket prices left some fans in shock. The competition’s passes, which are only accessible via a lottery in November begin at $255 for Monday practice rounds and range up to $749 for the weekend.
Despite the flak, the PGA of America defended the pricing decision. Following the harsh reception, the governing body’s director Bryan Karns backed the pricing by comparing the Ryder Cup to the NBA Finals Game. He claimed that the US vs Europe competition is ‘their bucket list’ event.
On the SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio, Karns said:
“I mean, we view ourselves as a tier 1 event that's on par with the World Series or with an NBA Finals Game 7. I mean, that was a part of it, and so again, when we look at pricing, we are able to tap into data from all these different venues. Again, our partner Delaware North they operate the Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics. They operate Lambeau Field. ...
"There are people who have the Ryder Cup on their bucket list in the same way someone would have, you know, a Yankees, opening game of the World Series on their bucket list.”
It's pertinent to note that the Ryder Cup will be played between September 26 and 28 at the Bethpage Black Golf Course.
