2025 US Open at Oakmont: Odds and top bets explored
The US Open is finally here. This week, the golf world will turn to Oakmont for the penultimate Major of the season. The world's best golfers will be battling it out for the prestigious championship, but not all of them have an equal shot at winning.
The better golfers, including those who've been in good form this season and have won other outings, naturally stand a little better chance at winning the tournament this weekend.

Unsurprisingly, Scottie Scheffler is the favorite as the World No. 1 and the PGA Championship winner. Rory McIlroy is not far behind as another Major champion this year.
Best bets for the US Open
It is sometimes too simple to predict the winner as the player with the best odds. Of course, Scottie Scheffler often makes good on that. He did at the PGA Championship. It happens infrequently, and it might at the US Open, or it might not.
Tommy Fleetwood is one long shot that CBS Sports' model gives a strong chance of victory to. He's 40-1 to win, but he's been in the top 25 in 10 of his 12 starts this season, and the model expects him to continue doing well at the US Open.
Bryson DeChambeau is not a long shot at all, but he's another good bet. He's been in the top five in four of the last six Majors, excluding the 2024 Open Championship where he missed the cut. He was T5 at the Masters and T2 at the PGA Championship this year, so he's primed to win and repeat as victor.
Xander Schauffele captured two Majors in one year last year, but the US Open was not one of them. He is halfway to a career Grand Slam but hasn't added to his tally yet this year. He could break out at the US Open and get that much closer.
