24 golfers in the LIV Golf League open zone ahead of season ender: Full list explored

Twenty-four golfers are in the Open Zone ahead of LIV Golf’s final event in Chicago. The breakaway series is nearing its conclusion, with the final individual event scheduled from September 13 to 15. Ahead of the event, 24 players are in the Open Zone, while 24 are in the Lock Zone, and those ranked outside the top 48 are in the Drop Zone.

Players ranked between 25th and 48th are in the Open Zone. David Puig, ranked 25th in the season standings, is followed by Cameron Tringale and Graeme McDowell.

Puig has competed in 12 tournaments this season, struggling in the early events. He began with a T38 finish at the season-opening Mayakoba event, followed by a T15 in Las Vegas. He has recorded only one top-10 finish this season. Other players in the Open Zone include Lucas Herbert, Peter Uihlein, and Danny Lee.

According to LIV Golf, players ranked between 25th and 47th still have a chance to earn a spot in the "Lock" for the upcoming season. However, they must secure a high finish on the leaderboard, with those outside the top 39 needing to win the tournament to break into the top 24.

Players who finish in the top 24 by the end of the season will secure their place on the roster for the 2025 season, while those ranked between 25th and 48th will become free agents. Players ranked outside the top 49 will be in the drop zone and face relegation from the series for the 2025 season.

Ahead of the LIV Golf Chicago event, 23 players are in the open zone, and seven players competing this week are in the drop zone. Pat Perez is on the borderline of the open zone, ranked 48th, followed by Scott Vincent, who is ranked 49th and is in the drop zone.
