5 LIV Golf reserves who cashed in on the 2024 season ft. John Catlin

The LIV Golf 2024 season concluded last month, with Jon Rahm emerging as the individual champion and Cameron Smith's Rippers GC winning the team championship. Four players, including those from RangeGoats GC, slipped into the drop zone and are on the verge of losing their contracts.

Several players filled in for injured LIV Golf professionals this season and made full use of the opportunities. In this article, we will look at five such players who capitalized on the 2024 season on the Saudi-backed circuit.

Wade Ormsby played three times on the PIF-sponsored circuit this year. He appeared in Jeddah, replacing Matt Wolff, then filled in for Louis Oosthuizen in Houston, and finally played in England, replacing Marc Leishman.

Laurie Canter was a full-time member last season but lost his card after the LIV Golf Promotions event. This year, he played in two events as a reserve before winning the DP World Tour’s European Open in June.

This was Canter's first win on the European Tour, and he is now aiming for a PGA Tour card.

4) John Catlin

John Catlin was the most successful reserve LIV Golf player this season. He made his LIV Golf debut in Houston, playing four events in place of Charles Howell III. Besides, he competed at Greenbrier for the injured Graeme McDowell and then replaced Jon Rahm in the Team Championship.

Catlin currently leads the points standings in the International Series and is a strong contender for full-time membership next season.

5) Luis Carrera
