7 players making moves in the $4M-worth CME points race with two weeks to go, ft. Marina Alex

The CME Group Tour Championship will take place from November 21 to 24 at the Tiburon Golf Club—Black Course. Golfers in the top 60 in the Race to the CME Globe list are eligible to compete in the event, and the winner will receive a $4 million paycheck.

The points list is currently being led by Nelly Korda and the second place is occupied by Haeran Ryu. A few golfers on the list have been making upward moves, just two weeks before the tournament.

Marina Alex moved up from 61st to 32nd on the points list and has secured a position at the CME Group Tour Championship. Her last appearance in the tournament was in 2022 when she finished at T25 with a score of 3 under 285.

Alex has five top-ten finishes on the LPGA Tour in 2024. This list includes a T2 at the Toto Japan Classic, a T6 at the Maybank Championship, and a T6 at the ShopRite LPGA Classic pres. by Acer.

Hinako Shibuno dropped to 58th place on the points list from 47th place. But she's still in the top 60, and the golfer has to maintain her position till the CME Group Tour Championship.

Shibuno had only two top-ten finishes on the LPGA Tour. She landed at T2 in the US Women's Open and at T7 in the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.

Carlota Ciganda moved down to 59th from 57th on the CME race list. She played at Tiburon Golf Club last year and landed at T10 with a score of 17 under 271.

Ciganda had three top-10 finishes on the LPGA Tour in 2024, including a T3 at the Ford Championship pres. by KCC, a T6 at the Chevron Championship, and a T10 at the FM Championship.

Alison Lee dropped from 52 to 54 after skipping the Toto Japan Classic. She's not in the field of Lottie Championship, which leaves her with the ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican to perform well.

Ashleigh Buhai dropped three spots to 63 after skipping last week's Toto Japan Championship. She had top 10 finishes on the LPGA Tour in 2024, including a T6 at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship pres. by P&G and a T6 at the BMW Ladies Championship.

Gaby Lopez is in 60th place in the CME points race, and she went down by one spot. She had two top-ten finishes on the LPGA Tour, including a T7 at the Kroger Queen City Championship pres. by P&G and a T8 at the JM Eagle LA Championship pres. by Plastpro.
