Aaron Cockerill reveals his impressive hole-in-ones count after making the latest in Abu Dhabi
Aaron Cockerill discloses his hole-in-one count after shooting an ace at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. In the first round of the DP World Tour event, Cockerill dropped the ace on the 13th hole of the first round. He also made four birdies on the front nine, along with a bogey.
Next, Cockerill shot one birdie on the last nine along with a bogey and a double bogey. His total score was 3 under with 69 in the first round. Following that, he joined a Q&A session with the DP World Tour and claimed that he's made a total of 11 eagles until now.
“That is 11, third on Tour, I believe in the last three years so pretty good clip. I just three putted the last hole so I was probably taking a little more agressive line than I should have. It was kind of a back left pin, water off the right,” Aaron Cockerill said.
He added, “It was just a little chippy, nine iron for me, and yeah, it was perfect. It just bounced like 2 or 3 short and look like just kind of trickled in. We didn't really see it, but, my wife was up there and she is always saying she wants to see a hole in one that was the first one she has seen. So, yeah. Fun day.”
Cockerill is in the 45th place on the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship leaderboard. Johannes Veerman leads the table with a score of 15 under.
