Notably, TGL would be a virtual golf league featuring six teams of four players each. There will be 15 matches in the series, which will take place on Monday and Tuesday nights, lasting two hours. At the end of the season, there will be semifinals and finals.

Adam Scott will be playing for McIlroy's Boston Common Golf team. Along with Scott and McIlroy, the team also includes Hideki Matsuyama and Keegan Bradley. Tiger Woods will also be playing in the series for his team, Jupiter Kings Golf Club, alongside Max Homa, Tom Kim, and Kevin Kisner.

The other four teams are Los Angeles Golf Club, New York Golf Club, Bay Golf Club, and Atlanta Drive. Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Billy Horschel, and Lucas Glover will play for the Atlanta Drive, while Collin Morikawa, Sahith Theegala, Justin Rose, and Tommy Fleetwood are part of the LA team.

Matt Fitzpatrick, Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele, and Cameron Young will play for the New York team, while Ludvig Åberg, Wyndham Clark, Min Woo Lee, and Shane Lowry will join the Bay Golf Club.

The series was initially planned to start in January 2024, but its venue, Sofi Center, was deflated due to a power failure in November 2023, resulting in the series being postponed for a year.
