Amanda Balionis collected funds for Hurricane Helene victims
Last month, Hurricane Helene heavily affected the Southeastern part of the USA, causing widespread destruction. Amanda Balionis stepped forward to help people in need. She collaborated with her organization Puppies and Golf to raise donations to help people affected. She initially asked people to contribute, later sharing an update that they had surpassed $10,000 in donations and eventually collected over $30,000.
"Thanks to our community’s incredible generosity, we’ve surpassed our $10,000 matching goal, bringing the current total to over $30,000! But we’re not stopping there. There’s still so much more we can do for the people and animals affected by Hurricane Helene.
We’ve added 2 more shelters to our support list (@fotas_aiken and Augusta Animal Services) and we’re expanding our efforts with in-kind donations in both Atlanta and Charlotte, in partnership with Intown Golf Club. We are so appreciative of the way @intowngolfclub has stepped up and chosen to help us with these efforts!"
Balionis often shares posts about her daily life on social media. She has been active in journalism since 2009 and worked with Verizon FiOS, MSG Network, and the PGA Tour before joining CBS Sports. She covers golf, college football, and NFL football for CBS.
