Amazing Bryson DeChambeau stat about his $6,993,000 PGA Tour earnings comes to light

US golfer Bryson DeChambeau joined LIV Golf in June 2022, rendering him ineligible for most PGA Tour events, excluding the Majors. Despite this, he currently occupies a top-10 position on the unofficial 2024 PGA Tour money list.

For the uninitiated, the Majors in men's golf are the highly coveted tournaments that fall outside of the PGA Tour's regulations. They consist of the Masters, US Open, PGA Championship, and The Open Championship. While the PGA Tour has held numerous events so far in 2024, Bryson Dechambeau has only played in these four prestigious tournaments.

And yet, it's alleged that he has amassed $6.99 million from these tournaments alone, placing him at a surprising ninth position on the unofficial PGA Tour money list.

DeChambeau has shown great form in almost all the Majors, except for the Open Championship, where he failed to make the cut. He finished T6 at the Masters, T2 at the PGA Championship, and won the US Open.

One of the most heartbreaking stories leading up to the recently concluded 2024 Paris Olympics was the exclusion of Bryson DeChambeau from the US team.

The US, as a top golf team, was granted four spots to compete in the Olympics. DeChambeau, ranked sixth, was unfortunately excluded due to his participation in LIV Golf, whose scores don't contribute to world ranking points. The final four representing the US were defending champion Xander Schauffele, world number one Scottie Scheffler (who subsequently won gold), Wyndham Clark, and Collin Morikawa.

Many LIV Golf players opted to compete in the Asian Tour to qualify for the Olympics, with seven LIV Golf stars ultimately representing their countries at the Games. However, despite these efforts, DeChambeau was unable to secure a spot on the US team.

The 30-year-old was unable to participate in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics due to a COVID-19 diagnosis. His ability to compete on home soil at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics remains uncertain. However, the potential merger between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf could positively impact DeChambeau's Olympic aspirations.

While both sides have discussed creating a framework for a potential merger, the initial December deadline has passed. Despite expressing optimism after a June meeting, a concrete timeline remains absent. Therefore, whether the reigning US Open champion can participate in the LA 2028 Olympics is still uncertain.
