Anthony Kim shows his support for President Donald Trump in Ryder Cup throwback series
Throughout the election season, Anthony Kim has not been shy about his support for Donald Trump. The president-elect captured the popular and electoral college vote on Tuesday and will become the 47th president in United States history in January.
Kim, rather than harp on the victory he had hoped for, decided to subtly give a shout-out to the president-elect with a few throwback videos from his days in the Ryder Cup for Team USA.
Kim posted his daughter wearing his old Team USA hat as well as some clips of him playing, both putting and working his way out of a bunker with a wedge shot. Kim previously expressed a lot of support for Trump, but he seems to be "turning the page" with this post.
Trump may be an important figure for Kim both politically and professionally. Rory McIlroy already expressed hope that the election might signal a positive turn in the PGA x PIF merger.
Even before that, Trump said that the negotiations would end quickly if he were involved. He also lamented the fact that LIV players have trouble getting into Majors and want to see one large tour for everyone to play on.
If Trump gets involved once he takes office and sees the deal through to the finish line, Kim's play on LIV would be impacted. The golfer returned from a lengthy hiatus to sign with the rebel tour. Now, he might be able to play in other tournaments if he chooses following the merger.
Anthony Kim hypes up Donald Trump's election win
Anthony Kim's official X page is full of political tweets right now. He was hard at work convincing his followers that Donald Trump was the right choice and that Kamala Harris would have been a poor one.
After his efforts seemingly paid off with a victory for Trump, he took to social media once again to celebrate the victory and what he believes it means for the American people.
Kim said:
"So is it official yet? Was I right? First time for everything I guess. I'm just happy for American citizens, women athletes, and the real estate agents that have so many places to sell from all the people that said they would leave the country if Trump won. See ya!"
Anthony Kim also, as he has done in the vast majority of his recent posts, added a series of political hashtags, such as #MAGA and #Trump2024 to seal the point he's trying to make.
Kim's latest tweet does suggest that he might be moving on from political talk, but there are still a couple of months between now and Trump's second inauguration day in early January.
