“Bags were my major concern” – Aditi Ashok details her adventurous trip from Portland Classic to the Olympics
Aditi Ashok was playing at the Portland Classic at the Columbia Edgewater Macan Course until last Sunday. After finishing T22 on the leaderboard, Ashok knew that her next commitment was the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In her first round at the Olympics, Aditi Ashok shot three birdies, one bogey, and one double bogey on hole 18 to settle 72 in the opening round. After the round, Ashok, who currently sits at T13 on the leaderboard, joined a presser and narrated her trip from Portland to Paris.
“It was okay. It actually worked out good because I didn't get a super late tee time in Portland. It was 12.20 and my flight was at 7.15. So it wasn't too bad. I just had to rush after my round to make the flight…I holed out I think at 4.10. So not a lot. My dad ran to the car to pack the golf bag and then showered and straight to the airport. We checked in at 4.50 which wasn't too bad. I got my bags in London,” Aditi Ashok said ( via ASAP Sports).
She explained how the bags were the major reason for changing two flights to get to Paris.
“Bags were my major concern. I wanted to make sure I picked my bags up at London and then a different flight from London to Paris…then I had to go back to the Village which is an extra hour but eventually got to the room at like 11.30. I was so tired. I slept through the whole night which was,” Aditi Ashok added.
Aditi Ashok finished the Portland Classic with 14 under 274. The golfer dropped five birdies in the opening round, followed by six birdies in the next round. In the third round, she shot 8 birdies and in the fourth, she fired three.
