Brian Harman's off-season hunting hobby takes backseat after Presidents Cup call - "Ultimate experience in golf"

Brian Harman is a big fan of hunting, and there is no better time to pursue his hobby than during the PGA Tour off-season. However, this year he might not get the off-season time he is looking for.

Brian Harman has been selected for the 2024 Presidents Cup US Team as one of the captain's picks. Captain Jim Furyk made the call and since then, Harman's hunting adventures have been put on hold. Talking about playing in the Presidents Cup this year, Harman said via Sirius XM PGA Tour:

"I know that everyone probably thinks that I'd rather be hunting, but there's nothing better than playing in these team events. I've been on the wrong side of a couple of phone calls for the Ryder Cup and the Presidents Cup. I'm going to soak all this in. For me, being a part of the Walker Cup or the Channing Cup is the ultimate experience in golf for me."

In 2023, Harman spoke about his interest in hunting with Golf Digest. Not only did he explain the reason behind his hunting, but he also spoke about why he enjoyed it so much.

"I'm a big outdoorsman. I love hunting, my brother and I do a lot of turkey hunting. I love to deer hunt, I do a lot of bow hunting, we duck hunt. I killed the biggest deer of my life two years ago."

For now, Harman can look forward to teeing up alongside other US Team members at the Presidents Cup.

The 6 captain's picks are as follows:

Keegan Bradley, who was originally the vice-captain for the Presidents Cup, has made the squad as a captain's pick instead. He will be focusing more on the playing at the Presidents Cup than his duties as vice-captain. Speaking about Brian Harman's performance, Furyk said:

"Throughout his career, Brian has been one of the fiercest match play competitors I’ve seen. His grit and tenacity were on full display winning the 2023 Open Championship, and I’m looking forward to having that mindset on our side at Royal Montreal.”

The Presidents Cup will be held from September 24-29 at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
