"If I could do it over again, I'd play baseball" - When Brooks Koepka expressed his love for baseball
For Brooks Koepka, baseball isn't a new territory, as he comes from a family of baseball legends. His great-uncle, Dick Groat, was a former shortstop for the Pittsburgh Pirates and an eight-time Major League All-Star. He won two World Series titles and was named the 1960 National League MVP.
In an interview with Golf Digest in 2015, Koepka expressed his love for baseball.
"If I could do it over again, I'd play baseball 100 percent, no doubt," he said. "To be honest, I’m not a big golf nerd,' he says. "Golf is kind of boring, not much action. I come from a baseball family, and it’s in my blood."
Koepka also played shortstop in Little League but wasn't a big hitter.
"Could never hit a home run as a kid," he said in a 2015 interview. "Maybe I was too small, but it drove me nuts. I kind of wish I’d stuck with it."
Koepka last competed at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, where he tied for 10th.
