Brooks Koepka reveals shocking take on ketchup and coffee
American golfer Brooks Koepka recently participated in a fun video for his LIV Golf team Smash GC. He and teammate Talor Gooch gave their golf clubs a break as they donned aprons to cook a buffalo chicken sandwich with Donny Enriquez for the 'what's for lunch' segment of the chef's video series.
During the video, the chef asked Koepka and Gooch if they had ever cooked before. Koepka said he hadn't "in years". Chef Enriquez further probed if they had made coffee or anything to which the Smash GC captain responded saying he didn't drink coffee or any "hot drinks".
This answer prompted Gooch to chip in as he revealed Koepka didn't even eat ketchup. Enriquez appeared surprised by the revelation.
While Koepka's revelation about his food preferences may be surprising, several fans supported his no ketchup policy in the comment section of the post. Gooch and Koepka cooked their favorite post-round meal, a buffalo chicken sandwich.
Koepka was last seen at the 2024 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland last week. He placed T10 with a 17-under after the final round at the Old Course, St. Andrews, on Sunday.
What does Brooks Koepka eat before his tournaments?
LIV Golfers Brooks Koepka and Talor Gooch recently appeared on Chef Donny Enriquez's 'what's for lunch' series on YouTube.
The trio spoke about food preferences among other things in the video. Enriquez asked what their meal times were during tournaments. Gooch said that he prefers to have a light meal before competing as golfers need to walk 18 holes at events.
Koepka agreed with him saying:
"I don't even eat when I am out there. I just eat before. Just eat something light." (2:17)
Enriquez then asked the duo if they would eat at the clubhouse later. Koepka answered:
"We got a chef back at the house. We (are) starving waiting to get some food back there and try to hold out." (2:27)
The LIV Golfers said that while the clubhouse food is generally very good, overseas locations can serve some "interesting" dishes. They said their favorite overseas destination for food was Singapore.
When asked which sandwich would the golfers eat for the rest of their lives except for a buffalo chicken sandwich, Talor Gooch said he would go for Jersey Mike's. Brooks Koepka replied:
"I'll do an Italian. Vinegar on there." (2:53)
Enriquez asked the pair if they were picky eaters. The conversation ended with no conclusion as the three were reminded of Koepka's aversion to ketchup and coffee.
