Brooks Koepka’s wife Jena explains son Crew’s progress with his helmet
Brooks Koepka's son Crew has been wearing the helmet for several months now, but it seems he will have to wear it for a few more months. Koepka's wife, Jena Sims, provided an important update on their son's progress with the helmet.
On July 27 last year, Brooks Koepka and Jena Sims became parents to Crew. However, he was born 7 weeks before the due date, as Jena underwent an emergency C-section. As a result, Crew was in the NICU for a few days, which might have caused Flat Head Syndrome. To address this, the doctors put a helmet on his head for protection and to keep it in shape.
On Thursday, October 3, Sims provided an important update regarding Crew's helmet.
"I swear these places either give you a script or they don't," she said during AMA session on Instagram. "They follow a script, but they don't really tell you an end date. I do know that Cranial Technologies doesn't treat past 18 months because, you know, your head is already formed by then.
"We know what the problem areas are, but it looks so much better, and we were so happy with the progress. Now, it's helpful because he's running into the countertops and stuff, so we kind of like it," she added.

During the AMA session, one of the fans asked Jena's advice for first-time mothers.
"My number one tip, especially now that Crew is getting older, is to let them make mistakes," she said. "If they’re starting to play with certain things, don’t interrupt them because that’s so good for helping them become independent.
"People who come over to the house and see how Crew and I interact always say, 'Wow, he’s so independent.' And that’s important to us. I want to be able to get things done because I work from home and watch him at the same time," she added.
As for Brooks Koepka, he is in St. Andrews, Scotland, participating in the DP World Tour's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. He carded 1-under 71 in the opening round and was tied for 120th after Thursday's play.
