Jena Sims gave birth to Crew in July 2023. The delivery happened a few weeks before the due date, and she had to undergo a C-section. The baby was in the NICU before she brought him home. Sims has focused on her health, and a few months after giving birth, she shot for Sports Illustrated.

When Jena Sims shared her secret to rapid postpartum fitness recovery

Jena Sims shot for Sports Illustrated just four months after Crew was born. She quickly regained shape while recovering from a C-section and surprised fans with her photoshoot.

In an interview with The Post earlier this year, Sims shared how she prepared for the shoot. She revealed that soon after Crew's birth, she began focusing on her health, diet, and workout. It was not an easy journey. She said (via The New York Times):

"As soon as I was cleared to, I started eating really clean and working out. I didn’t kill myself over it. I was breastfeeding and recovering from a C-section and when they gave me a firm date, I was like, ‘It’s go time.' I woke up every day before Crew and worked out six days a week.”

Sims further said her husband, Brooks Koepka, was very supportive during her recovery, with few golf tournaments taking up his time.

"I sat him [Koepka] down and said this is going to be the equivalent of me training for a major golf tournament and it kind of resonated with him. He really stepped up. At that time there weren’t any major tournaments coming up for him.
"If I had a workout and Crew wasn’t asleep he would take care of Crew and just completely worked his schedule around mine, which is what I do for him when he’s training for something. It was so seamless."

The Koepka family had a memorable year in 2023 with Brooks winning his fifth Major title at the PGA Championship around two months before Crew was born.
