Bryson DeChambeau chugs wine from the US Open trophy in New York while surrounded by fans
The US Open win celebration continued for Bryson DeChambeau the following day as well. On Monday, June 17, he celebrated his second US Open win by chugging wine from the trophy at Trump National Golf Club Westchester in New York.
DeChambeau, who was a 54-hole leader, posted a 1-over 71 in the final round of the 2024 US Open, beating Rory McIlroy by a single stroke. The final round was quite thrilling, but he overcame the tough challenge put by McIlroy.
On Monday, NUCLR Golf shared a video on X where the 30-year-old golfer is accompanied by Eric Trump as he chugs wine from the US Open trophy. The clip was originally posted on Instagram by Larry Glick, Executive VP-Development at the Trump Organization.
The win didn't come easy for DeChambeau, as McIlroy was looking to cruise through the win at one point. However, the Northern Irishman lost track in the final few holes, and the two missed putts in the last five holes cost him the title. DeChambeau received $4,300,000 for the championship, while McIlroy took $2,322,000 home.
This was DeChambeau's second win at the majors. Notably, his first win also came at the US Open in 2020 after beating Matthew Wolff by six strokes.
