Bryson DeChambeau confirms he will be at LIV Golf’s first Indian event at the International Series India presented by DLF

Bryson DeChambeau has confirmed that he will play the International Series India presented by DLF in late January/early February. This will be the first time a Major champion will play a tournament in the country.

DeChambeau will join his LIV Golf teammate Anirban Lahiri. The International Series India presented by DLF is the first of 10 elevated events for the Asian Tour in 2025.

DeChambeau is becoming one of the biggest names in golf. He has two LIV wins, seven PGA Tour wins and two Majors (the 2020 and 2024 US Open) and has one of the most-followed YouTube pages in golf.

The International Series has become a bit of a minor league for LIV Golf, as it offers players a direct route to joining the LIV Golf tour. The final rankings leader for the overall International Series moves up to LIV for the following season. The International Series also has an LIV Golf Promotions event.

DeChambeau isn't in need of that, as he's firmly entrenched in the tour and is not likely to be relegated or leave any time soon. Nevertheless, he's going to headline the very first LIV event in India.

The tour has long been a proponent of spreading golf around the globe and going to places the PGA Tour hasn't been yet. That includes Australia, where there's now a yearly event, and now India.

Anirban Lahiri is an Indian professional golfer on LIV Golf and is also Bryson DeChambeau's Crushers GC teammate. The International Series India presented by DLF will be the first home tournament for Lahiri on tour.

Before confirming his own appearance at the event, DeChambeau was hopeful about playing. If nothing else, he'd be in support of his teammate, saying via Golf Monthly:

"I will support him fully, and if everything works out, I am extremely excited about the opportunity to play in India.
"I have never been there, but it’s a country that has fascinated me. I have always loved being a global player and I greatly enjoy playing in as many countries as possible.”

Bryson DeChambeau noted that it would be a very important week for Lahiri, and now he's going to be by his side as a fellow competitor. Lahiri said before his teammate joined that it would be a "massive" addition for Indian golf fans if they are able to watch the two-time Major champion play.

The International Series India presented by DLF is the first event on schedule for the Asian Tour. It will once again end with a Saudi Arabian tournament in 2025.
