Bryson DeChambeau hilariously demonstrates ‘three-checkpoint’ bunker shot that ‘only works 90 per cent of the time’
In a video posted on November 7, Bryson DeChambeau hilariously shared the 'three checkpoints' for a bunker shot. Over the past few weeks, with no scheduled events in his calendar, the two-time Major winner has been actively posting golf content on social media, where he enjoys a tremendous fan base.
Recently, DeChambeau’s LIV Golf team, Crushers GC, posted a video of him demonstrating simple steps for taking a bunker shot. Bryson, dressed in a pink t-shirt and black shorts, casually demonstrated the shot in a bunker filled with white sand.
In a humorous manner, the former PGA Tour player revealed his ideal technique for a greenside bunker shot, sharing three key steps:
- 1. Opening the face
- 2. Swinging really hard
- 3. Hitting about 2-3 inches behind the ball
"This only works 90% of the time…" (via @CrushersGC on X, formerly Twitter).
Besides his impressive performances on the greens, DeChambeau has also garnered popularity due to his golf content on YouTube, where he has over 1.56 million subscribers.
His exclusive series, "Break-50," where Dechambeau tries to play 18 holes in under 50 strokes alongside celebrities and renowned personalities has become very popular. Notably, his collaboration with Donald Trump, generated over 12 million views on YouTube.
Bryson has also started another golf series: "Course Record," where he tries to break the 18-hole record at various golf courses. So far, he has released only two videos for Course Record, with the latest one uploaded eight days ago, and generating around 1 million views so far.
Bryson DeChambeau shared tips to improve putting technique
A week ago, Bryson DeChambeau posted a video demonstrating a technique for 3 putters on his Instagram account, where he has 1.7 million followers. He shared a picture holding a sign that read:
"Send this to a friend who always 3-putts."
The 31-year-old explained that the best way to practice 3-putts is to control your speed, saying:
"If you are 3 putting, the best thing you can do is practice your speed control. I found that works for me is using a ruler. To putting a ruler down and mark 10 foot, 20 foot and 30 foot and establishing how hard you need to hit your putt."
He then demonstrated putting from these distances, showcasing his technique. Check out Bryson DeChambeau's putting lesson below:

He was tied for third at the Nashville event and finished T6 in Chicago.
