Bryson DeChambeau kicks off new ‘course record’ series on YouTube, fails in first episode

Bryson DeChambeau recently launched a new series called "Course Record" on his YouTube channel, where he attempts to break the course records at various golf courses. However, in the first episode, he fell short of achieving this goal.

The American golfer, who now competes on the LIV Golf tour, is well known for his popular YouTube channel, which boasts around 1.41 million subscribers. Bryson DeChambeau's previous series, "Break-50," received widespread acclaim from the audience and featured notable collaborations with Paige Spiranac, Sergio Garcia, and even former US President Donald Trump.

Building on the success of "Break-50," DeChambeau introduced "Course Record," where he aims to break the course records on different golf courses. DeChambeau shared details about this exciting new series on his X (formerly Twitter) account, where he also revealed that he failed to break the course record in the first episode.

In this episode, he played at Coyote Ridge Golf Course in Dallas, Texas, where the lowest record is 63. However, DeChambeau shot a "solid 65" and missed the record by just two strokes.

His round started with a par on the first hole, followed by a birdie on the next, and then another on the fourth hole. Although DeChambeau delivered a bogey-free round with seven birdies, he ultimately couldn't break the course record.

"Kicking off a new 'Course Record' series on YouTube—just dropped the first episode today. Shot a solid 65 but fell a few short of the course's current record (63)," he wrote on X.

Additionally, the two-time Major winner asked his fans to suggest more public golf courses for upcoming episodes. He wrote:

"Let me know if you guys want more of these and what public courses I should play next?"

The episode was uploaded on his YouTube channel, and within a few hours of its release, it had already garnered 750K views at the time of writing.

Bryson DeChambeau indicates plans for a second YouTube channel

During the press conference at the 2024 LIV Golf Greenbrier event earlier this month, Bryson DeChambeau was asked about the possibility of starting a second YouTube channel alongside his main one. When a reporter inquired about his plans for another channel, DeChambeau revealed his future intentions and indicated that he does have plans for a secondary channel.

He said (via Asap Sports):

"There are future plans for that. We want to continue to grow that audience and inspire younger a generation, continue that on my main channel. For a secondary channel there's always that options, especially in different languages and whatnot. That's a totally different option for us that we're looking into, as well."

Bryson DeChambeau won the LIV Golf Greenbrier event in 2023, but this season, he finished in 15th place. As the tournament concluded, the Saudi Circuit players are now set to head to the Chicago event, which will be the final individual event of the season. The tournament will take place from September 13 to 15.
