Bryson DeChambeau reveals being impressed by $2M-worth PGA Tour pro’s cigarette smoking - “He was nine deep before we even got there”

Bryson DeChambeau opened up about PGA Tour player John Daly's smoking habits in his recent interview. Recently, golf commentator Red Harrington shared a video of the LIV golfer's interview from the Broadcast Boys podcast, in which the American golfer talked about Daly's well-known smoking habits.

In the interview, Harrington asked the American golfer to pick any one of the two options he gave, in terms of what will be the higher number. The host asked:

"Prime John Daly cigarette smoked per 18 or Jack Nicklaus total Major wins."
"It's John Daly. 100%," DeChambeau said.

DeChambeau opened up about the time he collaborated with Daly for his YouTube video and revealed how he had already smoked before their match even started. The LIV golfer said:

"When I was doing my break 50 with him. He was nine deep before we even got there."

John Daly, who has a net worth of $2 million (via Celebrity Net Worth), is infamous for smoking and drinking on the greens. In his 2016 interview with Graham Bensinger, Daly opened up about his addiction to drinking and smoking, saying:

"I started smoking at 19. I smoked for almost 29 years. I smoked about the same as a book- two packs, two and a half packs a day. But at that time I had started smoking that much. Before that, I was only smoking maybe a pack, pack and a half."

Notably, Bryson DeChambeau's Break 50 Challenge is quite popular among golf fans. In 2024, he collaborated with renowned personalities such as Donald Trump, Paige Spiranac, Sergio Garcia, and others for the popular Break 50 Challenge.

John Daly and Bryson DeChambeau's "Break 50" video garnered over 6 million views

Bryson DeChambeau and John Daly participated in the Break 50 Challenge in August 2024. The video has so far generated over 6.1 million views on the platform. During their collaboration, the duo talked about the game and shared valuable advice with fans. They even discussed golf grips.

Speaking of big grips, Daly said, via Golf.com:

“It’s all about trying to teach amateurs how to play golf. Get fitted with your grip, not your clubs. The smaller the grip is — if you put your hands on a grip, and you take it back, and there’s a gap between your left arm and your right hand, you’re screwed. That means you’re not controlling the golf club. So go get fitted for grips. Nobody does that.”

Bryson DeChambeau's YouTube channel currently has around 1.64 million subscribers. Following the conclusion of the third season of LIV Golf in September, he has become very active on social media and frequently shares golf-related videos.

However, after a long break, DeChambeau is set to return to play this week at The Showdown, a made-for-TV event featuring Brooks Koepka, Scottie Scheffler, and Rory McIlroy. The tournament is scheduled for December 17 in Las Vegas.
