With unwavering support from his fans, DeChambeau shared an emotional message thanking them on his social media account following his victory. He dedicated his win to his fans, writing:
"This one is for all of you, the support out there today was unmatched."
Fans were very supportive of Bryson DeChambeau during last week's Major. Interestingly, on the 14th fairway, when Rory McIlroy was preparing for his shot, he glanced at DeChambeau's ball, to which one fan shouted (via ESPN):
"Yeah, that's Bryson's ball, Rory. Take a look."
Throughout the match, DeChambeau received updates from his fans about how McIlroy was performing. After the match, he revealed that these updates helped him understand what to do. DeChambeau said (via ESPN):
"Every once in a while I could hear 'Rory, Rory' chants, for what he was doing, so I knew what he did based on the roars. That was actually kind of fun because it gave me the knowledge of what I had to do."
