Charley Hull calls LPGA rival a "good scrambler", picks her as "one to watch" at AIG Women’s Open
After playing the first two rounds of the 2024 AIG Women's Open with Lilia Vu, Charley Hull praised her fellow LPGA Tour player, calling her a "good scrambler." Hull teed off in the ongoing women's final Major on Thursday, August 22, in a group with Vu and Nelly Korda.
The English golfer had a good start to the tournament and took the lead after the first round. However, after the second round, Korda leaped to the top of the leaderboard. Following the second round, Hull shared her thoughts on her playing partners, expressing appreciation for Korda as well as Vu.
Speaking of her first two rounds of group members, Hull said (via ASAP Sports):
"I feel like I'm equally hitting it as good, she just holed a few more putts than me today. I think Lilia is the one to watch, as well, because when it gets windy she kind of just sticks in there. She's a good scrambler."
Korda, Vu, and Hull secured the top positions on the leaderboard after the second round. Korda is leading at 8-under, while Vu and Hull are tied for second, three strokes behind Korda at 5-under. The Major championship has a cutline after two rounds, and only the players finishing above 4-over will tee off in the final two rounds over the weekend.
Korda has already won six LPGA Tour events this year, including the Chevron Championship. She is now in contention for another Major title victory in 2024.
