Charlie Woods plays with a yet-to-be-released driver at PNC Championship, Tiger sticks to last season's model
Charlie Woods has a prototype driver at the PNC Championship that has yet to become accessible to the public. The main tournament at Ritz Carlton will start on December 21 and continue until December 22. Before that, on Friday, Woods Junior flaunted his new TaylorMade Qi35 LS driver at the Pro-Am match.
The club has been added to USGA’s chart of Conforming Driver Heads but it isn't yet available in the shops. Nelly Korda also used a TaylorMade club called the TaylorMade Qi35 Max driver at the Grant Thornton Invitational which isn't yet accessible to the public.
Rory McIlroy also used the Qi35 Max driver for ‘The Showdown' as he paired with Scottie Scheffler to defeat Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau. While some Pros switched to Qi35, Tiger Woods stuck to the TaylorMade Qi10 driver for the PNC Championship Pro-Am.
Charlie Woods had a list of items in his golf bag for the 2024 season. He carried TaylorMade Stealth Plus (Fujikura Vista Pro shaft and Fujikura Vista Pro shaft) drivers, a TaylorMade SIM Max (Fujikura Vista Pro shaft), TaylorMade P7CW (3-PW) irons, TaylorMade MG2 wedges, and Bridgestone golf balls.
When will Tiger Woods tee off with Charlie Woods for the first round of the PNC Championship?
Tiger Woods and his son Charlie are making their fifth appearance at the PNC Championship in 2024. Previously, they played in four other editions and debuted in 2020. The pair finished 7th in 2020, landed at the 2nd place in 2021, then at the 8th position in 2022 and 5th place in 2023.
Their next appearance at Ritz Carlton will be this year and Team Woods is scheduled to tee off at 10:44 a.m. along with Team Leonard. Defending champions Bernhard Langer and Jason Langer will start at 10:57 a.m. along with Team Singh. Lee Trevino and Daniel Trevino have the first tee time at 9:00 a.m. along with Team Price.
