"Class act"- Fans react as Bubba Watson matches donation, gives away house after making ace at Indonesian Masters

Fans react to Bubba Watson's philanthropic act at the Indonesian Masters. He made an ace in the third round of the BNI Indonesian Masters, which resulted in the event authorities donating a house to needy families.

An NGO, Habitat for Humanity has announced to give a house to the needy for every ace this week. Moreover, Watson has also matched the donation for his hole-in-one in the event. Sharing this on X, Flushing It wrote:

“Bubba Watson made a hole in one at the BNI Indonesian Masters that resulted in the tournament donating a house to local families in need. Phachara Khongwatmai followed him in to double the total and then Bubba has personally donated a third house to the charity too,” the poster wrote.

The poster also quoted Watson's words on the philanthropic act:

“The game of golf has helped tremendously around the world. For all the charity things that golf has brought to the table, it's very special to be a part of that. It's an honour and I heard there was another hole-in-one right behind me, so somebody needs to match that so there'll be a couple families that will be helped out. So it's an amazing thing that golf could can do that for somebody, and be able to help people.”

Bubba Watson dropped four birdies in the first round of the Indonesian Masters to land at 70. This was followed by a second and third round of 67 and 65 with six and five birdies, respectively. He played nine holes of the last round and scored two birdies so far.

Watson's last tournament was LIV Golf Dallas, where he finished at T40 with a score of 1 over 73.

Bubba Watson donated $200,000 paycheck after winning the 2018 Travelers Championship

Bubba Watson's third career triumph at the 2018 Travelers Championship made him engage in a philanthropic activity. He donated $200,000 to The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, which helps children suffering from serious illness.

After involving himself in the generous act, Watson disclosed his pleasure to be a part of it, via Sports Spectrum.

“It is such an honor to be a part of this tournament…They’ve always made me feel like family. Every year they’re making improvements, making the tournament better, growing the charitable donations, doing more for the families, caddies, fans. I can’t say enough about how impressive this tournament is and how much they impact the community by giving back,” Watson said.

Bubba Watson has made other donations as well. He gave $1.6 million to The Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Sacred Heart and $350,000 to flood victims.

Watson also revealed in 2018 via Sports Spectrum that he sees golf as a pathway to earn more and help people in need.
