Collin Morikawa cracks a joke about taking left-handed shots at Genesis Scottish Open after facing heat for it
On Friday, Collin Morikawa's golf experiment at the ongoing 2024 Genesis Scottish Open didn't impress the fans. During round 2 of the tournament, Morikawa took a left-handed shot that didn't end up on the hole. As a result, fans expressed their mixed thoughts and confusion over the last-minute change.
After that, the American golfer uploaded a story humorously addressing the same matter. He recently posted a story from his Instagram account, where he shared the video of the shot and wrote:
“It's just the same as right handed, but opposite,” Morikawa wrote.
Collin Morikawa currently sits in the T5 position on the leaderboard with a 9-under. In the opening round, Morikawa carded seven birdies and two bogeys on holes seven and nine to finish at 65. In the next round, Morikawa dropped six birdies on holes 1, 4, 9, 13, 14, and 16. The round had two bogeys, one in the front nine and another in the back nine, to finish at 66 at the end of the second round.
Alongside Morikawa, Rory McIlroy also sits in the T5 position with 9-under. The defending champion dropped five birdies and one eagle in round one. In the next round, McIlroy carded five birdies, three on the front nine and two on the back nine. Currently, the Genesis Scottish Open leader is Ludvig Aberg with a score of 12-under.

Collin Morikawa started his season with the Sentry Tournament, where he finished at T5 with 25-under 267. Then, he missed the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open. Following that, he participated at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Genesis Invitational, where he finished at T14 and T19, respectively. Then, he missed the cutline at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
