"Could have been me.."- Max Homa jokes as he has to play golf at the Zozo Championship over watching the Dodgers game

Max Homa wanted to celebrate the Los Angeles Dodgers win over the New York Yankees but had to skip watching the game since he was playing the third round of the Zozo Championship.

Homa is at Narashino Country Club in Japan this week for the Zozo Championship. On Saturday, October 26, he carded a 3-under 67 in the third round, bringing his total to 4-under.

Before the start of the third round, Homa shared on social media that he wouldn't be able to watch the Dodgers vs. Yankees game.

"I am in Japan (and tee off ten mins after first pitch) and won’t be able to watch on TV, but I still want u guys to know that I’ve decided to root for the Dodgers today. I hope they play really well."

Following his round, Homa reposted a clip of fans celebrating the Freddie Freeman walk-off grand slam during the tenth inning of Game 1 of the 2024 World Series at Dodger Stadium.

"Could have been me but I had a tee time."

Max Homa finishes well after a final round 66 at the Zozo Championship

Max Homa didn't have a great start to the week at the Zozo Championship, shooting 73 in the opening round. However, he ended the week on a high note, moving up 12 spots with a 4-under 67 on Sunday, October 27.

Homa sank seven birdies and three bogeys to finish at 8-under after the round, twelve strokes behind the winner, Nico Echavarria.

The 33-year-old golfer didn’t have an impressive season on the PGA Tour, as he managed just three top-ten finishes. However, he earned a third-place finish at the Masters Tournament, his best result in the event.

Max Homa has made 18 cuts so far this season and finished 46th in the FedEx Cup playoff. The six-time winner on the PGA Tour has not won since last year's Farmers Insurance Open.

Echavarria fired a 3-under 67 to claim his second PGA Tour title. The 30-year-old Colombian golfer birdied the final hole of the day to finish at 20-under, beating Justin Thomas and Max Greyserman by a one-shot margin.

Rickie Fowler shot 64 on Sunday to finish three strokes back, while Kurt Kitayama secured solo fifth place after shooting 5-under 65 in the fourth round.
