Current major champion Justin Thomas joins Genesis Scottish Open along with Xander Schauffele and Matt Fitzpatrick
Justin Thomas has committed to the Genesis Scottish Open alongside Xander Schauffele and Matt Fitzpatrick. The latest PGA Tour event has the world number five officially in participation.
Thomas joins Schauffele (number 11) and Fitzpatrick (10) in an ever-growing field that's full of top notch players.
Much of the OWGR top 50 is participating in this tournament as well. Here's who, along with their ranks:

Others include Thorbjorn Oleson, Henrik Stenson, and Sepp Straka. The field is deep and continues to get deeper with additions like Thomas, Schauffele, and others.
World number one and two Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm will need to outdo one another to get the number one spot on the leaderboard when it's all said and done, so it should be excellent competition. It will be very interesting to see who comes out on top of an absolutely stacked field.
Justin Thomas, Tiger Woods under fire for tampon charade
Recently, Tiger Woods outshot Justin Thomas on a hole and gave him a tampon when it was over. This seemingly implies that Thomas must be feminine since he can't drive as far as the elder Woods.
This prompted scrutiny and criticism from the golf world, but newly announced Solheim Cup captain Suzann Pettersen didn't find it offensive (via Outkick):
"I know Tiger quite well. I don't know Justin Thomas as well, but I know kind of Tiger's humour and that's a very probably boyish joke between the two of them and I don't really take it too personal."
She continued, cutting Woods and Thomas some slack:
"I think that was supposed to be a gag between the two of them and unfortunately some cameras caught it in the heat of the moment. I don't know, I don't think he meant to be offensive in any way. I'm pretty easy on stuff like that. I'm sure it was meant as a joke, not as a harassment to women in general."
Olympic legend Michael Johnson, however, did not take it very lightly (via Fox Sports):
"Apology starting with ‘If I offended anyone’ is no apology. But this is Tiger. Never been a leader and he’s Teflon. Still heralded after all the mistakes so he’s learned nothing. Media focus always on miraculous recovery. Never why the need for recovery."
Woods is often embroiled in controversy and this recent "joke" is no exception. Justin Thomas, on the receiving end of the joke, seems to have avoided any criticism for this incident.
