Daniel Brown details reason behind letting his brother caddy at The Open 2024 – “Not too bad for a 19-year-old lad”

Daniel Brown had a memorable week at the Open Championship 2024, where he tied for tenth. Following the round, he was in praise for his younger brother Ben, who did the caddying duties for the golfer at the Open Championship.

Brown entered the Royal Troon with Ben as a caddie. Ben is also a golfer and has tried to qualify for the season's final major. Nevertheless, he performed the bagman duties quite well, as he helped his elder brother finish well in his major debut.

During the post-round interview, Daniel Brown praised Ben and spoke about his experience with him as a caddie.

"Yeah, amazing," he said as per ASAP Sports. "He's getting a nice little payday. Not to bad for a 19-year-old lad."

Earlier this week, Brown detailed how Ben helped him on the greens.

"He knows AimPoint," he said on Thursday. "I was struggling on them last few holes to sort of like see the slopes and stuff on the green. So it was hard to read putts, but thankfully he knows AimPoint, so I was kind of putting my trust in him for the last sort of like two or three holes."

Notably, Ben Brown won last year's English Amateur, which came seven years after his brother's win.
