Danny Lee wins the LIV Golf Tucson in a four-way playoff

Danny Lee won the LIV Golf Tucson in a playoff to win his first title since the 2015's Greenbrier Classic, a former PGA Tour event. The final went in a four-way playoff where the 32-year-old New Zealander emerged victorious over Louis Oosthuizen, Carlos Ortiz, and Brendan Steele after three extra holes.

Lee finished at 2-under 69 on Sunday to get into a playoff with Carlos Ortiz (2-under 65), Brendan Steele (1-under 70), and Louis Oosthuizen (1-under 70) at an aggregate score of 9-under 275.

Lee's victory at PGA Tour’s Greenbrier Classic also came in the four-way playoff.

He said (via Golf Week):

“Maybe it was a coincidence, I don’t know, but it feels pretty amazing right now.”

Lee won $4 million for his triumph at the Gallery Club, in Arizona. He said (via Livgolf.com):

“I haven’t won since 2015. I just felt like winning is just not my thing, but today just changed that,” Lee was quoted by LIV Golf. “It’s just good to see I’m capable of playing some good golf again.”

Charles Howell III finished in the fifth position after shooting a 72 on Sunday. The LIV Golf's Mayakoba event winner held the lead at the beginning but a triple bogey on the eighth hole and missing a birdie on the 17th cost him the playoff.

In the team portion, Fireballs GC beat 4Aces GC by four strokes. Fireballs, led by Sergio Garcia, is just the second team to win multiple titles in the Saudi-backed Circuit. Their first victory came at last year's LIV Golf Invitational Bangkok.

Iron Heads GC ended the tournament in third position, their first podium finish in LIV Golf history.

Fireballs received $3 million, while the Aces earned $1.5 million and the Iron Heads will take home $500,000.
