Did Charlie Woods make the cut at US Junior Amateur? 15-yo shoots 82-80 with Tiger Woods watching

On Tuesday, July 23, Charlie Woods shot a 10-over 80 in the second round of the US Junior Amateur, missing the cut. He aggregated at 22-over after two rounds, missing the weekend by a whopping 18 strokes.

The 2024 US Junior Amateur began on Monday, July 22, with a total of 264 players on the field at Oakland Hills Country Club. The first two rounds were played in stroke play format, and only the top 64 would qualify for the match play. Charlie Woods was making his debut at the tournament this week, but it didn't go as expected.

In the opening round at the North Course, Charlie carded a 12-over 82. The second round at the South Course was slightly better, but not enough to make it into the top 64. He started well with a birdie on a par 3, but it proved to be his only birdie for the day. He ended the round with four bogeys and three double bogeys.

Tiger Woods was also present at Oakland Hills to support his son, which attracted more fans to the US Junior Amateur than usual.

Blades Brown topped the leaderboard after shooting 66 and 68 in the two rounds, aggregating at 6-under after 36 holes. Tyler Watts was one stroke back, while Mack Edwards, Joshua Bai, and Chase Kyes Lev Grinberg tied for third at 4-under.
