“Dustin Johnson here is a 4 Aces kinda guy” – The Open Commentator caught taking jibes at LIV Golf players on live broadcast

Sky Sports commentator Richard Kaufman was caught taking a dig at LIV Golf's Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka. Three-time LPGA Tour winner Trish Johnson was also present during the whole conversation.

On Saturday, July 20, Dustin Johnson carded 1-over 72 in the third round of the Open Championship and was tied for 15th after 54 holes. Brooks Koepka carded 7-over 78 and slipped to T62 by the end of the day.

The third-round coverage comprised both Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson in the same featured group. During the telecast, Richard Kaufman sparked a conversation with Trish that was more of a dig at the Saudi-backed circuit.

"Dustin here is a 4 Aces kinda guy..." Kaufman said.
"What, poker? Are we talking like he likes a game of poker" Trish Johnson responded.

Kaufman then mentioned Brooks Koepka, calling him a 'Smash GC kinda guy.' He explained that these were the names of their respective teams.

Johnson, while acting as though he was unfamiliar with this new information, asked:

"What's that all about? That's not golf, what you talking about?"
"Just filing in people that may want to know," Kaufman answered.

For the uninitiated, LIV Golf has been quite controversial, as many golf fans have accused the league of sports washing by Saudi Arabia. The players who joined the Saudi-backed circuit have been under constant scrutiny by the media. However, the PGA Tour has announced a deal with its rival, which is yet to be finalized.
