"It’s a pretty big deal" - Jon Rahm on winning at the Riviera Golf Course

Winning at the historic Riviera Golf Course is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for golfers, especially when the tournament is hosted by Tiger Woods, a 15-time major champion.

Jon Rahm took the lead after the third round on Saturday, but was nervous in the final. Nonetheless, he was also excited to compete at the iconic golf course and, more importantly, to win the year's third tournament.

In an interview during the winner's conference, Jon Rahm opened up about his win and journey so far playing on the PGA Tour. He admitted that this year has been incredible for him. He won the most number of PGA Tour events in a season. Rahm said:

"I’m a human being after all, and I’m aware of the magnitude of this moment and this golf course, right? I’ve never had three PGA Tour wins in a season, and to do it this early on is incredible, and to do it at this golf course."

He elaborated:

"Talk about the history of Riviera as a golf course, the history of Tiger Woods as a player, those two combined in this tournament, it’s a pretty big deal. As a historian of the game, to be able to win a tournament hosted by Tiger and the one hosted by Jack (Nicklaus at the Memorial) as well, it’s pretty incredible."
