Ryder Cup championship director and PGA of America official Bryan Karns gave an interview to Golf.com explaining the reasoning behind ticket prices for the event. According to Karn, the prices already include taxes set by the state of New York.
This means that fans will pay exactly the price listed on the event's website, with no other taxes or surcharges.
In another interview, this one for SiriursXM PGA Tour Radio, Karn himself explained another reason for the set prices (via The Mirror):
"We view ourselves as a tier-one event that's on par with a World Series, or with an NBA Finals Game 7. That was a part of it. So when we look at pricing, we're able to tap into data from all these different venues."
Tickets will be available through a lottery system called the Random Selection Process. To participate in the process, fans must register on the event's official website. The first sales window will be in November 2024.
The PGA of America is the governing body of the event on the American side. The European side is run by the European Tour, currently known as the DP World Tour.
