Former PGA Tour winner left in awe by Keith Mitchell’s ace at the WWT Championship celeb golf challenge

On Friday, November 8, Keith Mitchell's clutch ace during the WWT Championship celeb golf challenge sent the crowd into a frenzy. The shot was so impressive that former PGA Tour winner Smylie Kaufman had special praise for it.

The PGA Tour is at El Cardonal at Diamante this week for the WWT Championship 2024. Besides the professional contest, the tournament also hosted a celebrity golf challenge. Mitchell's team featured Rob Riggle, Matt Horner, and Noah Kahan, competing against team Harry Higgs.

Netflix's Full Swing creator Chad Mumm shared a clip of Mitchell sinking an ace on the final hole to tie. Following the ace, everyone, including Mitchell, went wild in celebration. Announcer Kelly James even lost his voice while repeatedly screaming 'Cashmere Keith'.

Former PGA Tour pro turned analyst Smylie Kaufman reposted the clip on his X (formerly Twitter) handle.

"Cashmere," Kaufman wrote while praising the shot.

Did Keith Mitchell make the cut at the WWT Championship?

Although Keith Mitchell impressed everyone with his ace during the WWT Championship celeb golf challenge, his form on the PGA Tour continued to struggle.

The 32-year-old golfer aggregated at 3-under after 36 holes at the WWT Championship, missing the cut by just one stroke. He carded a 3-over 75 in the first round, which included a triple bogey. In the following round, he carded an even-par 72, which wasn’t enough to make it to the weekend.

Keith Mitchell has been struggling with his form over the past few weeks, as this was his third straight missed cut. The last time he made it to the weekend was at the Sanderson Farms Championship, where he tied for third after holding a 54-hole lead. This was the second time this year he failed to win despite entering the final round in the lead.

Speaking of the season, Mitchell has now missed eight cuts in 26 starts so far. Although he has 12 top-25 finishes, he has only finished inside the top 10 four times.
