Golf insider details how much Scottie Scheffler, other golfers will earn for winning medals at the 2024 Olympics

The 2024 Paris Olympics for men's golf will kick off on (Thursday) August 1st and continue until August 4. This year, Paris will see 60 players from 32 countries competing and representing their nations. The 2024 Olympics winner will receive a gold medal, a silver medal for the second-place finisher, and a bronze medal for the third-place finisher.

But apart from the medals, do these golfers earn any money from the 2024 Olympics? Recently, Michael S. Kim asked the same question by re-sharing a tweet from Olympic golf on X (formerly Twitter). The tweet included a picture of the Team USA men's golfers- Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, Collin Morikawa, and Xander Schauffele.

In response to that tweet, Sports Illustrated writer Bob Harig gave a detailed breakdown of the payments the golfers could get after the 2024 Olympics.

“$50k to the winner. Each Olympic organizing group also can pay for medals. The U.S. IS $38k, $22.5k and $15k (CT Pan got about $180,000 for bronze from Chinese Taipei/Taiwan,” Harig wrote.

The USA pays $37,500 to gold medalists, $22,500, and $15,000 to silver and bronze medalists, respectively. But the payment is less than what Taiwan pays to their Olympic champions. They've got the second highest payment, with the gold medal winner getting 20 million New Taiwan dollars or $716,000.

Amongst all countries, Singapore awards the most by crediting one million Singapore dollars or $744,000 US dollars for gold in individual events. Silver and bronze medalists get $372,000 and $186,000, respectively.
