Scottie Scheffler was arrested by Lousville, Kentucky police on his way to Valhalla Golf Club on Friday, May 17, to play the second round of the 2024 PGA Championship. Scheffler was allegedly charged with four felony counts.

Why was Scottie Scheffler arrested?
Available reports indicate that Scottie Schefler's arrest was related to his evading a police stop. The police had stopped traffic due to a car accident that had resulted in the death of one person earlier in the day.
According to The Mirror, Scottie Scheffler is not related in any way to the initial event, which took place near Valhalla Golf Club before Scheffler arrived in the area.
Police arrested Scottie Scheffler and took him to the police station. According to a report by local media outlet WAVE News, Scheffler was charged with the following charges:
- Second-degree assault of a police officer
- Third-degree criminal mischief
- Reckless driving
- Disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic
Barstool Sports reporter Dan Rapaport shared on his X account a screenshot of the official website of the Louisville Metropolitan Department of Corrections, which shows that Scheffler joined the institution with the number 00654436. There is also a picture of the player wearing the orange uniform.
The second round of the PGA Championship was suspended due to a car accident near the course. The round will tee off after 08:30 am (Eastern Time). Scheffler has a tee time a little after 10:00 am ET.
