“He’s much worse in person”: Golf analyst takes a brutal jibe at Brandel Chamblee, shares a fan experience

Golf Analyst Eamon Lynch took a hilarious jibe at fellow analyst Brandel Chamblee in his recent social media post. Chamblee often hits the headlines for his controversial comments. He is widely known for vociferously supporting the PGA Tour, amidst its battle with LIV Golf in 2023. However, the series is currently in talks for a merger.

Recently, Eamon Lynch shared a hilarious post on his X account in which he spoke about a funny encounter with a fan. He revealed that a random golf fan approached him asking about Chamblee.

The fan particularly asked the analyst about Chamblee's personality off the camera. Intriguingly, Lynch surprisingly took a jibe at the American former golfer turned commentator. He commented that initially, he told the fan, "No, no," before adding that Chamblee is "worse in person". He shared the experience in a post on X, writing:

"A random golfer approached as I was having lunch today. “Is @chambleebrandel as arrogant in person as he appears on television?” he asked. “No, no,” I assured him. “He’s much worse in person.” He just nodded, as though this confirmed what he already felt had to be true."

Notably, Eamon Lynch is a renowned golf columnist for Golfweek/USA Today. Moreover, he is also known for hosting 'Golf Today' on Golf Channel. The American golf journalist is pretty active on social media and boasts around 43.7K followers on X.

Brandel Chamblee is a well-known golf analyst. He also played on the PGA Tour, having turned pro in 1985. Chamblee won one tournament on the circuit, the 1998 Greater Vancouver Open, where he defeated renowned PGA Tour player, Payne Stewart, to win his only event on the circuit.

"I think Phil should be removed from the Hall of Fame" – When Brandel Chamblee made a shocking comment about LIV Golf’s top player

Chamblee made headlines quite often in 2023 for his constant comments on the players joining LIV Golf. In one of his interviews with Golf.com, he openly talked about the PGA Tour and LIV Golf.

Chamblee demanded that Phil Mickelson, one of the biggest names who joined LIV Golf, should be removed from the Hall of Fame. Speaking of Mickelson, he said:

“I think Phil should be removed from the Hall of Fame. I don’t think he has any business being in the Hall of Fame. He’s caused irreparable damage to the game. And if the Tour’s philanthropic aspect dies, the autopsy should read LIV. It should read Phil.”

Over the years, there have been major changes in the golf world. Initially, the PGA Tour was against LIV Golf and even banned the players who joined the Saudi circuit from playing in their events.

However, the Tour shocked the golf world by announcing a merger with LIV Golf. The framework deal is still in talks, and both circuits' officials are negotiating a potential agreement.
