How to buy Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy-led TGL tickets? Early access, prices, and more
Barring another unforeseen issue, TGL, led by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, will begin in January. There are already three scheduled matches that month, with more in the months to come as well. If you want to attend the events, which will all be held at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, you will need to get tickets.
Ticket guide for TGL from Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy
To get tickets, fans must register for the presale. This can be done at tglgolf.com/tickets. There is no guarantee that everyone who signs up for the presale will be entered. However, that is not the end of the line for tickets.
Fans who sign up will have the first but not only crack at TGL tickets. That sale will begin on Monday, October 28. The next day, October 29, the general ticket sale will commence. Everyone, regardless of whether or not they were in the presale, can purchase it then.
Single-match tickets will go for $160. The league only specified this amount, and the one ticket allows for entry and access to whatever is in store. Since it's a virtual tournament from Tiger Woods and McIlroy, there are no seats like in a stadium, and there's no walking like a standard golf tournament on 18 different holes.
TGL to be shown on TV as well as in-person tickets
The full schedule for TGL includes 25 regular-season matches. Those will be followed by a four-team semifinals and one final championship match for the trophy after that. Fans can attend, but they can also watch any of the events on TV.
ESPN and ESPN+ will primarily have coverage. Mike McCarley, CEO and Founder of TMRW Sports said in a statement via the press release:
"In partnership with ESPN, our season will complement the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Season with a fast-paced team competition that aims to captivate a wide range of sports fans with elements, like a shot clock, that are familiar to fans of other sports. TGL’s two-hour matches are perfect for prime time and will help bring more fans closer to some of the biggest names in golf.”
He also said that Tiger Woods' TGL will combine the stars of the PGA Tour with the energy and fandom that team sports bring. McCarley likened it to a "live, courtside experience for golf on an unprecedented scale."
The league will run from January to March and then be done. It will follow the same schedule annually. Every event will be on Tuesday so as not to interfere with the PGA Tour's standard Thursday-Sunday schedule for tournaments. Golfers will be able to compete before they tee off for a regular event.
