The 2023 Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club concluded on Sunday with Jon Rahm lifting the trophy. The Spaniard took a two-stroke victory over Max Homa to register his third win of the year on the PGA Tour.
Rahm continued his stellar form in the designated event. The 28-year-old Spaniard finished at 17 under to take home the winner’s share from the $20 million prize purse. The golfer bagged the top prize of $3.6 million for his third win of the season. With the Genesis Invitational win, the star golfer became one of the highest-earning players on the circuit as well.
While Rahm won the maximum prize, runner-up Max Homa settled for a solid consolation prize of $2.18 million. One of the rising stars on the Tour, the 32-year-old was highly emotional after the event. Meanwhile, third-place Patrick Cantlay won $1,380,000. Forth placed Will Zalatoris took $980,000 and fifth-placed Keith Mitchell took $820,000, respectively.
J.B. Holmes and Emiliano Grillo, who finished T67 on the Genesis Invitational field, bagged $42,000 each. Tiger Woods, who settled for a T45 finish at the event, got $59,560 for his efforts.
