This year, the purse for the FedEx Cup has been upped by a whopping $25 million. The FedEx Cup playoff series features three competitions: St. Jude Championship, BMW Championship and finally the Tour Championship. The total prize purse for the FedEx Cup is $100 million.

The winner of the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup will take home $25 million. The amount is $7 million more than what Viktor Hovland earned after winning the 2023 Tour Championship. It is the largest winner's share in PGA Tour history.

This season on the PGA Tour, only US golfer Scottie Scheffler has received more than $25 million in prize money earnings after winning the Masters, Players Championship and four PGA Tour events. Second on the money list would be US golfer Xander Schauffele who has earned nearly $20 million after winning two major titles. Scheffler and Schauffele, along with compatriot Collin Morikawa, are in contention to win at East Lake. They are leading the pack in the currently ongoing third round. Morikawa who has been winless this year will be looking to make a comeback.

The top 30 players from the BMW Championship have advanced to the finale of the FedEx Cup. Those competing at East Lake will split a share of $82.95 million, and the other 120 golfers in the FedEx Cup points standings will split the remaining $17.05 million from the bonus pool.
