"I was able to overcome some demons" - Xander Schauffele on successful FedEx St. Jude campaign as he looks ahead to BMW Championship
After his victory at The Open Championship last month, Xander Schauffele continued his good form in the recently concluded FedEx St. Jude Championship. In the tournament held at the TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, Schauffele scored 66-69-67-63 to tie for second place.
With this result, Schauffele has now qualified for the BMW Championship. After his successful outing at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the 30-year-old was asked what was the biggest takeaway he would carry into the BMW Championship next week. Schauffele answered:
"You know, each event is sort of its own. I know we're sort of in this playoff run here, but to me, Memphis has gotten the best of me a lot of times. I'm happy I was able to overcome some demons on this property and shoot a nice number here."

At the 2024 BMW Championship, Schauffele will have to finish in the top 30 if he wants to qualify for the Tour Championship. The 2024 BMW Championship will be played between August 22 and August 25 at the Castle Pines Golf Club in Castle Pines, Colorado.
