“I ain’t ever making Sam burns mad at me lol” – PGA Tour pro Michael S. Kim jokes about being intimidated by rival’s impressive grip test score

PGA Tour golfer Michael S. Kim hilariously claimed he won't mess with Sam Burns after the latter showed impressive grip strength during the 2024 BMW Championship. The PGA Tour recently uploaded a video of players competing at the BMW Championship taking a grip strength test.

Interestingly, Sam Burns' grip measured around 145, one of the best among them all. The Tour shared the video on its X (formerly Twitter) account, captioning it:

"Grip it and rip it 💪 TOUR players put their grip strength to the test @BMWChamps."

Michael S. Kim quickly jumped into the comments section, jokingly saying he wouldn’t want to upset Burns. He wrote:

Several PGA Tour players, including Sam Burns, participated in the grip strength challenge. Collin Morikawa’s grip strength was recorded at 124.8, while J.J. Spaun measured around 110. Jason Day also took the test, recording a grip strength of 134, and Austin Eckroat recorded 145.2.

This week, PGA Tour players are competing at the BMW Championship. Sam Burns is also playing in the ongoing BMW Championship. He shot rounds of 73 and 68, placing him in a tie for 15th after two rounds.

Burns began his outing in the playoff event on Thursday, August 22, recording four birdies, a bogey, and two double bogeys. He had a rough start to the tournament, finishing the opening round with a 1-over par 73.

However, despite the tough start, Burns bounced back on Friday with a solid round of 4-under 68, which included five birdies, one eagle, one bogey, and a double bogey. This performance helped him jump 18 spots on the leaderboard, placing him in a tie for 15th.

Adam Scott leads the 2024 BMW Championship after two rounds with a score of 13-under. Keegan Bradley is in second place, and Ludvig Åberg is in third.

The tournament has completed two rounds, with the third scheduled for Saturday, August 24. It will conclude with the final round on Sunday, August 25.
