“I bet he's pretty happy with silver” - Charley Hull reacts to Tommy Fleetwood losing gold at the Olympics after completely missing his outing
Charley Hull is representing England along with Georgia Hall at the Olympic women's golf competition. The Olympic Women's Golf starts on August 7 and the final showdown takes place on August 10. Before the match started on Thursday, Hull joined a press conference on August 6 and answered a few questions given to her.
Out of the many questions, one was whether Charley Hull saw England's Tommy Fleetwood get the Olympics silver medal on Sunday. Hull answered that she missed his live match in Paris and she arrived at the venue on August 5. Later, when her friends showed Fleetwood’s game, she felt like he was quenched by the silver medal.
“No. I was actually on the golf course playing in England. I didn't fly out here until yesterday. I didn't get here until yesterday evening. I went out today a little bit. I don't really watch much TV but my friends were showing me shots and that and I thought it was great what he did. I thought he was going to get Gold at one point but I bet he's pretty happy with Silver,” Hull said ( via ASAP Sports).
In the same interview, Charley Hull also talked about how the Paris venue seemed lovely as compared to Tokyo when COVID-19 was a prevalent predicament. She also talked about how she'd treat the Olympics week like any other golf week and enjoy the competition.
“It's really good. Roughly with COVID last time around, it was a bit tricky. But yeah, I'm super excited to do it. Went out and saw the golf course and it was in lovely condition and excited to get out there tomorrow…I'm pretty chill on the golf course. I just think about other stuff. It's just another week. Obviously it's the Olympics so you just have to keep your cool and when you get off the golf course, enjoy the atmosphere,” she added.
This is Charley Hull’s second appearance at the Olympics. She last participated at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where she finished at T7.
