“I couldn’t give a single f**k” - Byeong Hun An hits back at critics over his now-deleted post attacking $6M-worth Presidents Cup star
Byeong Hun An stirred up a controversy after taking a fiery jibe online at Wyndham Clark. Notably, the PGA Tour’s social media team posted a video of US player Wyndham Clark mimicking Tom Kim’s Curry celebration from the second round of the Presidents Cup.
An jumped in to defend his teammate. The South Korean golfer didn’t hold back as he wrote, “You always have a guy in your group, who doesn’t do s--- but talk s--- all day.” Despite him adding a crying laughing emoji in the tweet, the shot fired divided fans across the globe and he faced some flak for the action. The 33-year-old soon issued an apology and deleted his tweet stating that he “wants to be a better person than that.”
Interestingly, a fan called ‘BS’ on the move and said Ben An’s apology was not genuine. The fan, in his reply to the International Team player’s post, claimed that the latter was “just backtracking because of criticism.” However, Ben An clapped back at the fan and said he “couldn’t give a single f**k” about the criticism he received. He claimed the post was put down because his wife suggested he do it.
Here is the complete exchange on X:

Fan named @POPS_FPtKaty replied:
“Bullshit, he’s just backtracking because of criticism. I never thought anyone would reach obnoxious level of Poulter, Reed & Kim (in 2022) but all Koreans in this Pres Cup did it.”
Byeong Hun An replied to the fan:
“I put it down because my wife suggested to take it down. I thought I was doing the same stuff as what Wyndham was doing. Also, I didn’t want to create a “scene” about it before the singles match. I couldn’t give a single f**k about the criticism I received.”
Byeong Hun An and Wyndham Clark’s war of words
It is pertinent to note that Clark’s original comment came after the Presidents Cup foursomes session on Saturday afternoon. The Americans won 3-1 to push their lead to 11-7, during which International side’s Tom Kim accused the rival players of “cursing at” him and his partner, Si Woo Kim.
Notably, the Kims were also slammed for their performative celebrations on the field. The Americans didn’t seem too happy with Si Woo mimicking Steph Curry’s night-night gesture after holing a late chip in. However, the routine came amid his side’s 1-down loss to Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele.
Following this, former US Open champion Clark was captured by television cameras shouting “Nighty-night, boys” in the direction of the Kims during their celebrations. Byeong Hun An seemed unhappy with Clark’s comments, which in turn, prompted the angry response online.
While, the South Korean golfer deleted the post and apologized, the damage was done. Clark addressed the comment before his singles tee off with Min Woo Lee, took a jibe at Ben An.
Replying to the Golf.com post about the International player’s comments, Wyndham Clark wrote:
“Then there’s the guy who didn’t even have a tee time…”
The war of words divided the fans as they picked either player’s side. Wyndham Clark received some harsh criticism for his jibe at Byeong Hun An’s playing time.
