"I embrace them"- Cameron Smith calls rowdy fans at LIV Golf UK 'intelligent'
Cameron Smith performed well at LIV Golf United Kingdom over two days. On the first day, Smith shot six birdies on holes 3, 11, 13, 15, 16 and 17. He also had a bogey to land at 66 at the end of the day.
Then, on the second day, Cameron Smith carded eight birdies to settle at 66. After the second round, the golfer joined a press conference at LIV Golf United Kingdom, where he was asked about his experience with the crowd after two rounds. In answer, Cameron called them intelligent.
“I like it. I embrace them. I think they're a very intelligent golf crowd, but they've also been pretty rowdy out there, and a lot of banter has been thrown both ways. It's been pretty good…I love the UK. The fans are always nice to us over here. Can't wait for tomorrow,” Smith said.
Leader Andy Ogletree also talked about his experience with the crowd, saying:
“It was fun. Today the crowds were massive, and playing with Jon, they were kind of on him, not really on me. I enjoyed watching all the banter and listening to some of the things -- they're very clever…It adds a good fun to it, and I hope they all have a good time and enjoy because without them we wouldn't be sitting up here,” Andy Ogletree said ( via ASAP Sports).
Before the LIV Golf United Kingdom, Cameron Smith played nine LIV events. Out of these, he had the best ten finishes in five. Cameron Smith’s last LIV tournament was LIV Golf Andalucia, where he stood in second place.
