"I'm not done"- Sergio Garcia confident of winning another major championship

LIV golfer Sergio Garcia is confident about winning another major championship in his career. He has been playing well this year, even achieving some remarkable finishes in the majors. The Spaniard, who won his first and only major at the 2017 Masters, hopes to add another to his tally.

Sergio Garcia, who is currently taking some time away from the greens after the completion of LIV Golf's third season, recently opened up about his performances this year in an interview with Golf Monthly. He spoke about his form in 2024 and his desire to add another major championship to his name, saying:

"The way I’ve been playing, it gives me the feeling that I’m not done in that aspect. I will give myself chances, and then it comes down to little things here and there, but I still feel like I can give myself chances."

Having turned pro in 1999, Sergio Garcia had a remarkable career on both the PGA Tour and the European Tour before joining LIV Golf. He faced some rough outings on the Saudi-backed circuit in the first two seasons, finishing in 17th position in the season standings last year.

However, in 2024, he was impressive with his game, securing the third spot in the standings. He also played in two majors in 2024, missing the cut at the Masters but recording a T12 finish at The Open Championship.

"I'd win between five and 10" - Sergio Garcia on the number of majors he thought he could have won

In the same interview with Golf Monthly, Garcia also revealed the number of majors he believed he could have won in his career. Garcia had a strong start to his professional golf career in 1999, winning two European Tour events, including Murphy's Irish Open and the Linde German Masters.

In 2001, he won two PGA Tour events and one European Tour event. However, it took years for him to finally secure his first major title, which came at the Masters in 2017.

In the interview, Garcia reflected on his early year performances and shared his views on winning majors, saying (via Golf Monthly):

"When you’re young, you have no fears and you think that you can take on the world and nobody’s gonna beat you. But unfortunately that’s not the truth. I would probably have thought that I’d win between five and 10 [Majors], I would have hoped, but it hasn’t happened as many as I’d liked. I had my chances."

Sergio Garcia has won 37 professional events in his career, with eleven of those wins on the PGA Tour and sixteen on the European Tour. In 2024, he won his first LIV Golf event at Andalucia. Additionally, he had three runner-up finishes on the Saudi circuit, including at Mayakoba, Miami, and Chicago in 2024.
