"I don't normally play stroke-play events"- Paige Spiranac feeling the pressure four weeks ahead of her tournament
After a career in amateur and professional golf, Paige Spiranac established herself as a social media personality and is one of the most well-known Golf Influencers. On Instagram and YouTube, Spiranac educates and entertains her audience with golf-related content. After retiring from the sport in 2016, Spiranac looks to make a return to competitive golf.
In a YouTube video on her channel, Paige Spiranac revealed she will be playing at an event at the end of August. Ahead of this event, Spiranac in the same video titled, "How I Prep for Golf Tournaments // One Month Out" admitted to feeling pressure due to lack of time to prepare. She said,
"This one is an important event. It's a stroke play event which I don't normally play stroke play events, especially under pressure. And so, it's really important that I feel super confident with my game. But unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time because my August is going to be extremely busy." [00:19 onwards]
In her career as a professional golfer, Spiranac competed on the Cactus Tour. A win over Hannah O'Sullivan in May 2016 earned Spiranac the only professional win of her career.
Later in August 2016, Spiranac attempted to play on the LPGA Tour by competing in an LPGA Qualifying tournament. However, the 31-year-old could not earn a card to play on the professional circuit.
Paige Spiranac recently spoke about a 'mental breakdown' she had at a golf simulator
While primarily focusing on being a social media influencer and YouTuber, Paige Spiranac does not shy away from playing golf on a regular basis. Even if it's not competitive, Spiranac is often spotted on the golf course.
Recently, she talked about a 'bad' day she experienced on the course. During a Q&A session with her followers on Instagram, a fan asked Spiranac whether she had ups and downs regarding her golf game, Responding to the question, Spiranac recalled an experience she had at a golf simulator:
"You have no idea. Let me just describe the last two days for you. So I actually have been playing pretty good golf. Went to the simulator yesterday, was feeling quite confident. I don't know what happened. I had a full-blown mental breakdown. I couldn't hit a shot, I didn't even know how to hold the golf club at one point. I was on the verge of tears."

Further, Spiranac mentioned she left the golf simulator without knowing if she wanted to play again but later added that in the morning after this incident, she got a golf lesson which helped her improve her swing.
