"I rode my luck today"- Tyrrell Hatton disappointed despite improving his standing after round 2 at Alfred Dunhill Links Championship

LIV Golf professional Tyrrell Hatton is currently playing at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, a DP World Tour event. After two rounds, Hatton is tied for 9th place along with Tommy Fleetwood, Tom Vaillant, and James Ashfield.

Hatton shot 65 in Round 1 of the 2024 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. He carded 68 at the end of Round 2. In a press conference after the second round on Friday, a reporter asked the British golfer about his thoughts on going from 65 in Round 1 to 68 in Round 2.

Hatton replied (via ASAP Sports):

"I guess a little bit frustrated. At times I rode my luck today. Getting some good bounces to avoid some bunkers, but then yeah, I just feel like I missed so many chances at the same time. It was hard to hole putts out there to be honest."

Hatton arrived at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship after a successful season on the Saudi-backed LIV Golf where he finished 4th in the individual season standings. He also played at the Open de Espana last week where he finished T10.

In the coming two rounds, it will be interesting to see if Hatton can play some phenomenal golf to win the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The 32-year-old is a two-time winner of the event, having previously won in 2016 and 2017.
