"I had three options" - Anthony Kim details why he joined LIV Golf for comeback, says he had 'equal shot' at PGA Tour

Anthony Kim made a return to professional golf this year after a decade-long hiatus. After his return, he debuted at the LIV Golf and played at the LIV Golf Jeddah, where he finished at T53. Following which, he played in several other LIV tournaments and has been engaged with the breakaway league throughout the season.

Recently, Anthony Kim shared the reason behind joining the LIV league in an episode of the "Fairway to Heaven" podcast. He discussed that he had three options, including coming back to the PGA. Later, he also explained how he returned to professional golf for his family and daughter. He said (via X):

“I had three options. It was to go the PGA Tour, it was to go play or come play here, or it was to not play golf. And all three had an equal shot…After a few conversations with LIV and the PGA tour, I was leaning towards not playing again. But my wife was like, 'who's ever going to get this opportunity again? You can do something that nobody else has done. If you accomplish something big with your comeback. So do it for your daughter',” Kim said.
And that's all I needed to hear to say I'm doing it. Show your daughter that you can put effort into something. Finish this job. And that's why I'm doing this. I've turned down more opportunities than accepted. If I endorsed something or if I'm a part of something, I want the people that actually follow me to say, 'Anthony believes in this',” he added.

Anthony Kim will be playing at LIV Golf UK this week, taking place at JCB Golf & Country Club. The event starts on July 26.
